15-04-2008 MAG express their sadness at the news of the death of Hon. Gwyneth Dunwoody MP

The Motorcycle Action Group express their sadness at the news of Gwyneth Dunwoody's sudden death. MAG had great respect for Mrs Dunwoody and recognises the tremendous contribution she has made to politics over a very long and distinguished career, in particular in her role as chair of the Parliamentary Transport Select Committee.

MAG Campaigns Manager, David Short said, " I had the pleasure of meeting Mrs Dunwoody both professionally, when I was a witness in a transport select committee which she chaired, and also socially. I was always impressed with the no nonsense business like manner in which she conducted enquires. She did not mince her words but at the same time was scrupulously fair and could cut through to the detail. Behind the formidable persona was a very warm and humerous individual. She was above all a real character and she will be sorely missed. On behalf of the Motorcycle Action Group I would like to extend our condolances to her family and loved ones."
